Having problems using the search engine in the Dark Music Domain catalog? Leave out punctuation marks (' . , / ! ?) to ensure that accurate search results are returned. EXAMPLE: When searching for Raison D'Etre, leave out the apostrophe (') and just search "raison detre," or even "raisondetre" (without a space).
Thanks,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU! Thanks to all of you who have continued to support the artists, and all of those people connected to the music, instead of downloading illegal digital copies of the music! Thank you for spending your hard-earned money even when hard economic times have impacted so many people all around the world! Like all of you, we too have been impacted. So we understand how hard it is to spare the money to be spent on anything non-essential. And thank you for supporting Dark Music Domain, especially with so many backwaters distros out there to choose from!
We sincerely hope that we have met your expectations for quality and customer service! We hope that we have earned your trust! And we hope that we have earned your continued support! Your support has been absolutely vital to us ... perhaps more so than we could ever explain in words. "Thank you" just isn't enough. But it's hard to mail a hug or a handshake.
When Dark Music Domain was born in May, 2004, it cost $1.25 (USD) to purchase 1 Euro. Later, the cost of 1 Euro would rise to $1.50 or $1.60 according to some sources. This caused our import prices to be higher than we would have liked. And then the US economy started to sink, getting very bad at the end of 2008. When the cost of 1 Euro went back to $1.25, we knew that the state of our economy in the USA was an unfortunate situation shared by others around the world. 2009 may be a very hard year for many people - made all the worse by the choice of US employers to secretly wait to lay off workers until the month of January - and if we could literally put money back in your pocket, we certainly would! But we can only offer the next-best thing. Because of the worsening economy, we are rethinking the issue of charging shipping. No final decision has yet been made, so shipping will remain FREE (USA/Can/Mex only) until then. We will try to continue to offer FREE shipping in the future, though there would be conditions. (Orders of just 1 CD are actually prohibitively expensive to ship for free. We honestly lose money.) And we will certainly continue to offer a variety of discounts, through the catalog AND on eBay! (Thanks a lot to all of the customers who took advantage of our recent set of discounts!) As Dark Music Domain is more of a "hobby" than any "corporate" endeavor, we just want what everyone else wants - to survive. And we want to keep our customers without bankrupting them during these dark days. Without you, we're over. End of story.
In closing, THANK YOU! Again and again, THANK YOU for all of your support. We sincerely appreciate it. If there is anything we can do to serve you better, please do not hesitate to ask. We are always open to suggestions. (And we also appreciate tips on what albums have just been released because it's hard to keep up with all of the obscure labels out there.)
Happy New Year!
MELEK-THA UPDATE & PRE-ORDERS:
Many of you are eagerly awaiting the release of Melek-Tha's "H.P. Lovecraft, Opus 5" and the good news is that you won't have to wait much longer. But the bad news is that the release will be slightly delayed due to problems with the artwork. As we understand it, however, the MUSIC is completed and that's the hard part - especially when working with another artist! (Such was the case with the ill-fated "Left Hand Path" release, where Melek-Tha could not get one bloody response from Nazxul, and now a band member has died. As we stated before, though, the release will still see the light of day! But perhaps not with Nazxul's contribution included.)
On to the good stuff! Melek-Tha just recently contacted us with a list of available releases, some of which were notably discounted. Others were big surprises! There is 1 copy available of "Asylum of Slaves" in the limited aluminum box set, which includes 3 CDs and 1 DVD (instead of the 2 CDs available in the standard edition). "Kapital de la Douleur," "Moloch: Reign of Fire," "Terra Incognita," and "The Mutation Process" were previously available from Dark Music Domain but were deleted from the catalog once they sold out. "Sombres Lumieres" has NOT been available for quite some time (more than a year, at least), but is now available again - though in what quantities we do not know! "Koroner's Kriminal Kama-Sutra" is a total mystery to us, as we have never stocked this release and truly know nothing about it. Melek-Tha also has 2 final copies of "My Name is Legion," the first VINYL! (Melek-Tha noted that this vinyl comes with a bonus CD-R, which may include the vinyl tracks, but we are not certain of that.)
Asylum of Slaves (3CD + DVD, limited aluminum box set)
Kapital de la Douleur
Koroner's Kriminal Kama-Sutra
Moloch: Reign of Fire (2CD)
My Name is Legion (10" vinyl LP + bonus CD-R, ltd.20)
Sombres Lumières Ou La Decadence De L'Espece Urbaine
Terra Incognita (2CD)
The Mutation Process (2CD)
(We apologize for the lack of detail on these releases!)
We need some feedback from customers on how much interest there is in these items. In the case of "Asylum of Slaves" and "My Name is Legion," if there is considerable interest from multiple customers, we may only be able to satisfy them by giving them a shot at the releases through auctions on eBay. (Retail prices could be $60 for "Asylum of Slaves" and $75 for "My Name is Legion." Possibly more. We do not have definite numbers at this point.) For the other releases, Melek-Tha did not indicate any limited stock status. But because money is tight, we do need to gauge the demand for this items before placing a wholesale order. Some of these releases were previously stocked by Dark Music Domain, and with many of our die-hard Melek-Tha customers having already purchased them, we're not looking to overstock.
Yes, we did say that several of the releases were notably discounted. What we're looking at is the wholesale prices offered to us, and we don't have our old retail prices for some of these previously stocked items to compare them to. The savings on each release is SEVERAL DOLLARS! The savings may be more noticeable once we can set final retail prices for these items. Sorry for being vague!
OK, so what we need is some feedback. No need to place down payments or full pre-order payments. Just offer us some feedback. If you have a minute to spare, please just send us a quick email. Which releases would you like to obtain through Dark Music Domain? We may take a few extra copies of some releases, but for the most part, we do not want to overstock the ones we have previously carried.
COMING SOON:
In our last newsletter, we neglected to mention that Melek-Tha is currently in the planning stages for "H.P. Lovecraft, Opus 6," which will include Xa-Mul as Melek-Tha's collaborator! The two projects did a fantastic job working together to create the "Alone in the Darkness" release and we're looking forward to the 6th volume in the on-going "H.P. Lovecraft" series!
In other news, there have been some delays involving the Bone Structure label, from which we are supposed to receive the following releases: Beyond The Asylum, Colossloth, Manifesto, Roto Visage/Mystified, Vo)))id/Blackstream, and various volumes from the "Pseudomonarchia Daemonium" series. We are still waiting on these releases, unsure of exactly what the delays are. The label has also noted that they may soon end the "Pseudomonarchia Daemonium" series. For those of you who are following the series and are still missing some volumes, we advise that you purchase the missing ones as soon as possible!
